Nice read Ty.
I was a little shocked when I saw NJ on the wire. And as far as Caron goes, meh. He has impressed in very brief flashes, very brief.
All in all I think we will do well this year.

Always liked Loui and was pleased when he joined the team. And thanks for the kind words

I'm still flummoxed that they would let Khudobin walk away for the sake of $200,000 but I guess if they had to they had to. As fans we tend to want to make decisions based on what we see as best for the club on the ice but unfortunately they do have that thing called a cap.

I'm hoping that either Caron finally gets it, or they keeping him up as trade bait, cause so far he hasn't impressed me at all.

Loui is going to be pure gold for the Bruins. I actually think with getting Loui, Iginla and more experience for the kids the Bruins to me are a better team then they were last year which is scarey!!! The only negative thing I can think of was not keeping Khudobin as their backup and if the only thing you are maybe wondering about is your backup goalie you are in a pretty good spot.

I might have to convince the GF to travel to Boston in Feb and see my favorite and 2nd favorite teams play against one another.

I will be at this game as the Oilers are my second favorite. I was happy to see Ference get the nod as captain too. Solid choice for them after lack of leadership from Horcoff.

This has got to be make or break for Caron. How many more chances does this kid get? To me it's not that he is terrible but he is not an NHLer like Chris Bourque wasn't. I think Johnson earned that spot. It's too bad.

Also 8 D? WTF?

Svedberg is better off playing than opening the gate.

Spooner wasn't going to unseat any of our 4 centers, and he self admittedly isn't comfortable on the wing. When injuries strike, he'll be the 1st to get a chance and deservedly so. These choices happen all over. Did Toffoli make LA?

Caron, despite not looking as good as Johnson in pre-season still carries more value than Nick Johnson, as such it's only good asset management to expose the guy you got for nothing that doesn't really hold any value as opposed to the kid you still hope to get value out of either as a player or trade chip.

The 8 D is curious, given the cap crunch. Minor injury? Reward for good play? Trade to come? Aside from having another RH Shot D in the group, doesn't make much sense.

NOT a big fan of keeping Caron, this kid must have Pictures or something, doesnt make sense, he's had chance after chance and has done nothing with them. Johnson comes into camp and plays his arse off and gets sent to Providence thru waivers, maybe someone will pick him up and give him a spot on an NHL roster he deserves it. UNLIKE Caron

Yes, it was a good choice by them to name him Captain. I won't be so bold as predict how the Oilers will do as its not looking good having both RNH and Gagner out already but I do think Ference will help out the D and the team and hopefully improve on their poor defensive play from last year.

Yeah, its his last chance, its the one way contract that he has that sealed johnsons fate. And as far as svedberg, he had a great season last year in P, but he's only had one. He's not going to steal Rasks spot, so who cares, let him season down there.
Its nice when our biggest gripe is who our backup goalie and #12th forward are.
